Danny Young, the Perth golfer and Craigiehill member, reflects on golf and the Alps Tour, with answers to five simple questions for followgolf.scot
1. How would you sum up your season so far?
I would sum up my season so far by saying it’s been a constant learning experience. I felt like I had a slow start to the year but have been getting better and better as the year has gone on.
2. What made you decide on Alps Tour?
I had always planned to play Alps over euroPro. I feel my game is better suited to courses abroad having been in the States for 4 years so felt Alps would give me the best chance to succeed early in my professional career
3. Who is your coach and what your you working on?
My coach is Sandy Smith from Ladybank. We have been working hard on my putting the last few months, tinkered with my routine a little bit as well.
4. Any goals for the rest of the year?
I have set myself two goals for the rest of the reason in the past month one is to win an Alps event and the other is simply to progress through stage 1 of European Q school.
5. Who has helped you this year?
For the most part of course my coach Sandy is the one who helps the most. Other than that I can only thank my sponsors as without them i wouldn’t be able to do what I am doing. So a massive thanks goes to them who are Kilmac & the Kingsbarns Pro Team.
Danny’s next event is the 2016 Citadelle Trophy International, Golf de Preisch followed by the 2016 Alps Costa Del Sol.
